The Department of Pathology has a broad mission within The University of Arizona. The faculty provides professional expertise in many areas of pathology and laboratory medicine. In addition, the professional staff provides the medical center with expertise in quality control and quality assurance and interfaces with a variety of state and national laboratory accrediting agencies on behalf of The University of Arizona and University Medical Center. The faculty is also responsible for the education of medical students, residents, graduate students, and post-graduate physicians as well as conducting research.
